Hungary's young U21 side played an important match in Istanbul against Turkey on Saturday. Antal Roth's side played their Turkish counterparts in this important European championship qualifier. The visitors fell behind in the 25th minute when a corner was headed into his own net by Szokol. It had been a fairly even game up until that moment. Turkey enjoyed more of the possession in the first period. Videoton's Andras Gosztonyi levelled the scores in the 53rd minute, following a nice though ball from Kovacs, following a good move. Potuk made the game safe for the Turks after 64 minutes, with the Hungarians reduced to ten men, after Tajthy was sent off in the 86th minute.
