NEW CONTRACT

Contract extension for Milán Pető

Our club has extended the contract of the 19-year-old midfielder, who scored his first goal in the first division against MTK recently.

Milán Pető was born on the 25th January 2005 in Breda. He came to Vidi from the Veszprém youth team in 2017, where he played for Vidi in all youth age groups from the U13s onwards. He made his debut for our NB III team in May 2022, and made his NB I debut in a league match against ZTE in February 2023, a month after his 18th birthday. In the 2023/2024 season, he appeared in 16 league games in the NB I, scoring his first ever goal in the top division in the 31st round of the OTP Bank Liga NB I in a 4-0 win against MTK Budapest last week.

"I'm very happy to have had a lot of opportunities to play in the NB I this season, and I'm especially happy to have scored my first goal in a league game for the first team on Friday, and I'm confident that more goals will follow. It was a dream of mine to play for Vidi and I'm happy that I achieved this as a home-grown player, that I worked my way up the ladder and that the club is counting on me for the long term. I would like to become as important a player as possible, get into the starting line-up and help Vidi as much as possible to achieve their goals" - said Milan Pető to our website after the contract extension.

Milán Pető is the seventh player in our club's colours to follow in his father's footsteps and play a top-flight match for Vidi. And since Friday, both of them have been scoring goals in the Vidi national league, and on this occasion we also recalled the first goal scored by his father, Tamás Pető, who has worked for our club as a player and acting head coach, in a Vidi shirt in 1996:
