BVSC-Zugló awaits Vidi in the next round

The draw for the 4th round of the MOL Hungarian Cup took place on Sunday. Vidi will travel to the NB III side BVSC-Zugló.

The draw for the 4th round of the MOL Hungarian Cup was held on Sunday evening.

Our opponent for the last 16 will be BVSC-Zugló from the Western Group of NB III. The match will be played in Budapest. The tie will be decided over one match, the official date of the MOL Hungarian Cup 4th round is Wednesday 3rd November at 12:30pm.

Our opponent: Although BVSC-Zugló are currently in the third division, the Vasutasok football team has a rich history.

Founded 110 years ago, in 1911, the football team from the capital were already champions in the second division in 1958, and their best period came in the mid-1990s, when the team coached by Sándor Egervári won the cup final and the silver medal in the National League. It is interesting to note that between 2004 and 2012, they did not have a senior team, but since then they have returned from the bottom of Hungarian football, starting from the BLSZ IV - for the time being to the NB III.

BVSC finished second as newcomers in 2020/2021 in the Eastern Group of NB III, and in the current competition they are in the Western Group, leading the table with 6 wins after 7 rounds. The team is coached by former national team and Premier League player Ákos Buzsáky, while former MLSZ president and NB I head coach István Kisteleki is in charge of the team's professional management.

There are also some familiar names in the squad, with veteran 33-year-old full-back József Nagy having played in 55 top-flight matches, while Roland Fröchlich has scored 7 times in 82 NB I matches, including one goal of the year - against Vidi in Sósto in a 5-1 win for Fehérvár.
