FK Zeta Golubovci were formed back in 1927 and were not a serious factor during the best years of Yugoslavian football. They played in the third division until the end of 1990, before celebrating the celebrating the second division title in 2000 to play in the top league. They played their first match in Europe in 2005 when they were a team in the league as part of Serbia and Montenego. Then in 2006-07 under the independent Montenegro league, they finished first. They have not been able to repeat that since, but have had a top three finish four times. 2012 saw then beat Armenians Pyunik, Finnish side JJK and Bosnians Sarajevo to make it to the EL play-off. However, they ended up conceding 14 goals in the two games with PSV. They ended in third place in 2019 to qualify for the Europa League. The transfermarkt.de website values their squad at 1,64 million euros, with Moldovian international keeper Namasco and last season’s Montenegro top goalscorer Krstovic leaving making Goran Milojko the highest valued player. African duo Soppo and Nya-Vedji have arrived from Rudar, but administrative reasons means they cannot play in tonight’s match. Zeta have a very young team with only keeper Akovic having been born before 1994. Our opponents played two games against Buducnost Podgorica (1-1) and OFK Petrovac, which saw them lose 1-0.
Zeta signed keeper Zoran Akovic in the summer, who had previously kept goal for Kecskemet and apart from a Hungarian cup match and in the League cup, mainly remained on the bench. Former Vidi keeper Mladen Bozsovics was also a player for our opponents.
Matija Lambulic played the 93 minutes of the first leg. The forward was born on the 12th March 2003, which was the same day as captain Roland Juhasz scored a lovely goal for MTK, which according to the Nemzeti Sport, flew into the top right corner from 14 meters.
