Vidi and Puskas Academy share a 1-1 draw

Funsho cancelled out the visitors opener but Vidi could not find the winner on Tuesday evening.

The derby game on Tuesday night saw Puskas Academy visit the MOL Arena Sosto. The Felcsut side went into the game in 3rd place after 14 matches while Vidi were a place ahead in second. The red and blues have also played a game less than their opponent. Vidi and PAFC have already met in the autumn season. The game on the 13th September at the MOL Arena ended in a 3-1 win.

Manager Gabor Marton chose the following side: Rockov - Rus, Musliu, Stopira - Funsho, Houri, Alef, Nyári, Hangya - Petryak, Zivzivadze.

The game kicked off with Vidi having the first chance. A corner from Alef after 8 minutes and Alef flicked it on but the ball went wide of the left post. Three minutes later and the visitors were awarded a free kick. Knezevic tested Rockov, who dealt with it comfortably. Shortly after and Patrik Nyari took a dangerous curling corner, which keeper Toth punched away in front of goal. It was PAFC who went ahead after 19 minutes: Knezevic receiving the ball and sending an unstoppable shot into the top corner of the net (0-1). The visitors Dutch player, Slagveer tried with an effort from distance after 22 minutes but Rockov was in the right place to deny him.

The action continued with Mance threatening from 18 meters out on 24 minutes but it did not find the target. Toth needed to be alert in the visiting goal following a free kick from Houri. Moments later and Alef tried with a shot from long range but the keeper kept it out. With 34 minutes played, a pass into the middle from Hangya towards Houri ended with the midfielder shooting over from 20 meters. A mix-up in front of goal after 43 minutes resulted in Musliu diving to block the shot from Knezevic, while Mance struck the rebound at Rockov, who punched it clear. The teams went into the break with Puskas leading by a single goal.

The second half began with a chance for Vidi after 51 minutes: Funsho's cross from the right was headed out by a defender, but the ball fell to Houri, who controlled it and shot just over the bar. Adrian Rus was replaced by Bendeguz Bolla after 54 minutes. Krisztian Geresi also came on in place of Patrik Nyari. It was Geresi who dribbled his way between the visiting back three before shooting and forcing a save from Toth. Petryak took a 58th minute corner that bounced at the feet of Funsho, who shot at Toth. The 59th minute brought the equalising goal: Houri played in Funsho on the right of the box and the winger sent a low shot across goal and into the bottom corner (1-1).

Not long after and Bolla dribbled his way in from the wing before shooting over. Nikolic came on for Zivzivadze after 67 minutes while a cross from the left by Geresi just failed to connect with Niko who was ready to pounce. Toth was called upon to save a Houri shot as the chances continued to be created. Musliu was forced to come off after limping following a tackle. Fiola came on for the final 20 minutes. Puskas player Mance clashed with Hangya and it was enough to collect his second yellow as the visitors were reduced to 10 men.

A Baluto cross after 81 minutes was saved by Rockov while three minutes later, Kiss showed good skill before playing in Szolnoki on his right, but the shot was weak and did not cause danger. Vidi pressed forward in the remaining minutes but the score did not change as the two sides picked up a point each in the 1-1 draw.

Vidi are next in action on Friday against Kisvarda at the MOL Arena Sosto. That game will kick off at 20:00pm.
