Videoton made it two wins from the first two league matches of the new season on Sunday, at the Ferenc Puskas stadium. In the tremendous heat of Budapest, over 12,000 turned out to watch the match of the weekend. Several hundred made the trip from Fehervar to support the red and blues. José Gomes kept the same starting eleven that started last week's home match with Haladas. Ferencvaros manager Ricardo Moniz made 4 changes to his team, with Daniel Bode taking his place on the subs bench, having suffered all week with an injury.

Vidi took the lead in the opening 10 minutes, as they had done last season. Nikolics took advantage of an error from Otten, before running one on one at goal to slip the ball past Jova to make it 1-0 to Videoton.

Kovacs lifted the ball behind the home defenders 3 minutes later, for the arriving Alvarez, who just failed to connect with the ball by an inch. Tuijp kept on-side after 14 minutes, before seeing his shot saved really well by Vidi keeper Calatayud, who blocked the effort with his leg. FTC came more into the match, but they were up against a Videoton side that was quick to close down their defence. When the green and white side did manage to find a way through the visiting defence, they failed to beat the Spanish keeper who looked confident throughout.

The second half started with a chance for Fradi, with Jenner just missing the target from 15 meters out. Kleinheisler showed good trickery on 52 minutes, causing problems in the home defence, before back heeling the ball to Sandor, who shot at goal from 20 meters. That chance went wide of the post, but Vidi continued to look solid throughout, despite the challenging warm weather, which was around the 35c mark. Bode tested Calatayud from distance on the hour mark. The Spanish stopper did even better moments later, with Ferencvaros being frustrated with the visiting keeper.

The home team came close to drawing level after 71 minutes, with Jenner crossing the ball into the box, resulting in Juhasz flicking it, with Bode arriving to shoot wide. Alempijevic pulled down Juhasz and referee Kassai wasted little time in showing a red card. Nikolics kept his composure to make it 2-0 to Videoton from the resulting penalty kick.

Kovacs produced goof skills six minutes before the end, which ended with him hitting an effort with the outside of his foot, which went over with the help of Jova's hand. Sandor Torghelle came on in the 87th minute with his first contribution almost producing a goal. He hit a shot from 35 minutes out, which flew over the stranded Jova, before coming back off the crossbar. Torghelle also held off his marker shortly after before hitting a strong shot from an angle.

Vidi picked up three valuable points at the Puskas stadium to make it 6 points from the first two matches. Pecs are the visitors to the Sostoi next weekend.
