Our U19 national team with goals from Hunor Németh, Mátyás Vidnyánszky and Zétény Varga won 3-1 against Cyprus on the first day of the European Championship qualification tournament in Andorra.
The Hungarian national team left for Andorra at dawn on Sunday, where after training on Sunday and Monday they played against Cyprus on Tuesday afternoon in the first matchday of the qualifying tournament for the European Championship - mlsz.hu.

Hungary didn't start well in the match on artificial turf, and found it difficult to get into the rhythm, in the first quarter of an hour the Cypriots got into position because of several serious mistakes, and fortunately they missed their chances. In the 21st minute Hungary took the lead, Hunor Németh headed into the net from a corner on the right (0-1). After the goal they took the initiative and had the chance to score again, but before the break Hungary handed the initiative to the Cypriots, who equalised from a corner in the last seconds (1-1).
The Reds started well in the second half, and in the 50th minute took the lead again, with Vidnyánszky Mátyás scoring (1-2). In the 65th minute, after a quick and accurate attack following a clearance, they scored a goal, when Zétény Varga netted from close range into the empty goal from Szilárd Szabó's pass (1-3). With a two-goal lead the young Hungarian side controlled the match confidently, and Gergő Jeremiás, the national team coach, made some substitutions in the second half. In the second half the Cypriots did their best to make things right, but the result did not change until the break, our national team started the tournament with an important victory. Vidi's Patrik Kovács was on the pitch as a starter until the 74th minute.
If Hungary can beat the hosts Andorra on Friday, they can secure qualification for the elite round of the spring tournament.
