Report: Vidi rescue a point in injury time

In the 29th round of the OTP Bank Liga our team hosted Puskás Akadémia FC at the MOL Arena Sóstó on Saturday evening. This time, Michael Boris went for the starting line-up Kovács D. - Rus, Stopira, Shabanov - Nego, Fiola, Zulj, Heister - Funsho, Kodro - Nikolic, while our opponent's captain was the former league winner of Vidi, Roland Szolnoki.

The match started well for us, as we took the lead in the 3rd minute! Funsho's cross might have initially found Nikolic in the middle, but it ended up reaching Kodro in the second wave, who after some manoeuvring, sent a 14-metre shot into the near corner (1-0)! In the ninth minute, Zahedi would have replied, but his flat shot was saved by Kovács.

The next minutes were filled with the ball mainly in the middle of the pitch, several players received yellow cards for tough tackles. Then in the 25th minute Zsolt Nagy sent a cross in and it was headed into the net by Zahedi and Puskás Akadémia equalized (1-1). In the 33rd minute, Funsho could have beaten Tóth, but Stronati made a great tackle at the last minute. Three minutes later, Zahedi scored with his foot, but the assistant also flagged the offside, which was confirmed by VAR after a minute's examination. The game picked up again, and another minute later Funsho's 17-yard shot whizzed past the left post. Referee Bognár finally blew for the end of the first half after two minutes of extra time, with the score level at 1-1.

At the break Michael Boris made one change, Rúben Pinto came on for Fiola, Zsolt Hornyák made no changes. The half started with a chance for Bakti, the young Felcsút winger shot wide in the 47th minute. Three minutes later, Nikolic' ball was sprinted onto by Zulj, but Balázs Tóth came well out of his goal. In the 53rd minute, Puskás Akadémia took the lead, Zahedi scoring again from a free-kick. It was the Iranian striker's second goal of the match. In the 58th minute Nikolic' shot from distance was saved by Tóth, a minute later Favorov's effort was saved by Dániel Kovács.

In the 68th minute Funsho was replaced by Dárdai and Zulj by Makarenko. In the 76th minute, Nego tried to put the ball into the goal from an acute angle, but Tóth was on hand to deal with it, a minute later Rus tried to head in a left-wing cross, but Stronati nodded the ball away. In the 84th minute, Nego shot from 13 yards to the near bottom corner, Balázs Tóth made a great save. Three minutes later Shabanov was replaced by his compatriot Lednev. In the 91st minute Baluta received his second yellow card and had to leave the pitch. We equalised in the 95th minute! Kodro's shot was saved by Tóth, but the rebound was headed into the net by Stopira from close range (2-2)! The score remained the same until the end, a 2-2 draw against Puskás Akadémia.
