Videoton took the lead through a Gyurcso free kick, which was cancelled out in the second half.
Vidi were back in league action after the long winter break with a testing game at the home of Pecs. In nice early spring weather, the red and blues had been eagerly awaiting the return to league action. On loan Milan Peric was on the home teams bench, having joined them from Vidi for a six month loan deal. There was also a minute silence in honour of fomer Olympic champion Novak Dezso, who sadly passed away recently.
Vidi had control of the first half, although almost 15 minutes passed by before the first real chance, which fell to Nikolics, who shot over from 17 meters. The attacks came mainly down the left side, with build up's being based around Nildo, but Brachi also offered energy on the other side, as he offered to help out in the attacks. Koller headed towards goal after 18 minutes, but Caneira did very well to slide in to collect the ball inside the box. Kovacs won a free kick for Vidi in the 23rd minute in a dangerous position. Gyurcso stood behind the ball and then curled a magnificent effort into the top corner, with the keeper well beaten to make it 0-1. It brought joy to the large travelling army of supporters who had made the trip from Szekesfehervar.
The overall picture of the game did not change after the opening goal. Vidi directed things, while Pecs defended effectively, with hardly any chances being created in front of goal. Pecs midfielder Markvart had a couple of chances towards the end of the first half. His first shot flew over the bar, while the second went just wide of the post, following a good curling shot.
There were no changes at the break from either side. The 55th minute saw a lovely crossball from Vitor Gomes, which landed just under the feet of the arriving Nildo, with the goal beckoning. Calatayud was alert to tip over a good shot from the dangerous Markvart. A corner kick then resulted in the home side hitting the post and the crossbar, before the ball was finally cleared. However, the score was level after Kovari slid in to tap the ball home after it came back off from a rebound 1-1.
Substitute Zé Luis was unfairly stopped on the half way line by Nagy, who would have had a clear run on goal. The result was a booking for the home player. Both sides went full out to find the winner in the closing moments, but without any luck as the final whistle blew.
