Vidi entertained Honved on Sunday afternoon in very good weather conditions, considering we are a week away from the start of November. There were over 4,000 inside the Sostoi stadium to watch this OTP league division one fixture.

The first few minutes saw both sides trying to gain the upper hand. The crowd were lifted after 10 minutes when Nikolics connected with a cross from the wing, but the ball went just wide of keeper Kemenes' goal, for what was a really good early chance. Vidi went ahead after 21 minutes after Gyorgy Sandor showed good skill to shake off his marker inside the box, before crossing from the left for the calm and composed Nikolics to steer the home side ahead, with a shot from 5 meters out. Nikolics went looking for a 25th minute Brachi cross, but the Honved defender managed to clear the danger. The visitors then levelled out of the blue. The goal arrived on 27 minutes, following a quick counter attack, which ended with Gergo Nagy finding the bottom left hand corner of the net from around 23 minutes out.

That was the first goal that Vidi had conceded on their home pitch after 387 minutes. The last time that keeper Calatayud was beaten was in the fourth league match of the season, with Paks scoring with a 90th minute Konyves shot. Kovacs could have restored the lead with two minutes left of the first half. His 25 minute powerful shot hit the post, following Kemenes' attractive save.

There were no changes at the break from either side, while the shape of the game remained the same. There was good link up play on 55 minutes between Kovacs and Kleinheisler, which resulted in Koko finding himself with a chance, but his shot went over the goal. Honved's Hidi had a powerful shot at the other end, which required a smart save from Calatayud. Brachi then suffered an injury a few minutes later, which needed a stretcher to take the defender off. New Columbian signing Perea came on for Honved on 77 minutes, who the visitors had signed 10 days previously. He had his first chance within a minute, but Calatayud pulled off a very good save.

Sandor Torghelle came on with 10 minutes left, and his team mates tried to find him with high balls. Honved scored their second goal in the 92nd minute, following a quick counter attack. It came from substitute Perea to make it 2-1 to Honved. There was still time for Nildo and then Gyurcso to level for Vidi, but the former saw his show blocked by a defender, while Gyurcso's promising free kick went over the bar.

The referee blew for full time, with Budapest Honved continuing to be the bogey team of Videoton FC at the Sostoi stadium. It is interesting to see that almost three years ago to the day, on the 29th October 2010, and equally in the 12th weekend of league football, the Budapest side came away with a 2-0 win. Vidi led the table then, as they do now, by three points.
