Marko Nikolic: The last two weeks have gone according to plan and in great surroundings

The MOL Vidi FC manager shared his thoughts on the last couple of weeks in Spain.

Marko Nikolic:

"Similarly to Monday, we played two matches today with the aim of giving as many players a full match. We put out a young side against the Chinese U25 team, with the addition of Anel, Kovacs and Vini. They were all key members of the team in the first half of the season. There were no problems in the first half, and we kept things under control and also created chances. The Chinese changed their team at half time and punished us with dangerous counter attacks. We lost possession of the ball and our opponents practically copied their own moves and we conceded goals from these. Our young players need to work more and harder to be able to be standard players in the team. Each of them have the potential in them but they have to work more. The game with Dalian saw us control things and we carved out chances, which was a good final friendly game. We had an experienced team on the pitch and we played as is expected from an experienced side. I felt a little that we did not push things to the limit and we just pressed to make sure it would be a comfortable win. It was a positive way to end things and go home. The last two weeks went according to plan and we worked in great conditions. The weather was also really good. The hotel, pitches were all fine and I am satisfied with everything. However, this is only the pre-season and the main thing is that the things that we worked on here should be carried out in competitive games."
