The two managers spoke about the pre-season friendly in Marbella.
José Gomes: "The match against Galati was not only the last game of the first winter training camp. There are also 15 days of very hard work behind us, and this was our fourth friendly match. Now we can see the problems, which we need to repair. We had a very hard training session the day before this friendly match for example, as I did not want us to go out there on to the pitch completely fresh. This way it is easier to see the problems that appear. I am satisfied on the whole with the 15 days. The players have shared with me those problems, which they feel during games. Naturally they would have wanted to have better results in the matches, but as I have previously said, results are not the most important aspect during this period of pre-season. I am satisfied with the work that we have completed during this training camp."
Ewald Lienen: "We played well and dictated play during large parts of the match. I am pleased that when we had chances to score, we managed to convert those. We let things slip out of our fingers a little when we were at 2-0. Perhaps we felt in our heads that the game was ours. One of my young players made a mistake in the lead up to the first Vidi goal, but I will not harm him as he needs to pick up plenty of experience still. I felt that there was an offside with the second Videoton goal. It was a good lesson for us that a game carries on until the match official blows. You must not concede a goal in the 93rd minute. Or rather it is OK to do so at the moment, as the aim of these friendly matches are to see those mistakes, which can appear, and fix them before the start of the season."
