The two managers spoke about the match shortly after the final whistle.
Imre Szabics: "We are very happy with our first away win, it's about time. Congratulations to the team, they responded well to last week's defeat. We made it difficult for ourselves at the end of the game, as we played well and had chances to score the second goal earlier in the game. There's a certain psychology to games, which is that usually if you don't manage to score the second goal to take the lead, the other team will get the momentum and change the result, but in the end you just get the second goal. Of course, the nerve-wracking last few minutes could have been spared by an earlier second goal. We wanted to create a serious positional game today and more or less managed to do that, we broke MTK well on the wing especially in the first half. And after conceding the ball we wanted to create a very good insurance so that the home team couldn't get any breathing space.”
Gábor Márton: “It was an interesting match, we deserved a draw because we had some excellent chances. I feel sorry for the boys. I don't want to dwell on what happened at the end of the game, everyone saw what happened, I can't do anything about it afterwards anyway. We have to keep working, I said that after the last win. We won against Újpest, that was great, but that doesn't make it right, we have to move forward gradually. Coming back to today's game: it is often said that you can get caught out, but it is not always the same how. Of course, every defeat hurts just as much. The first goal we scored was a complete defensive slip-up, a cross found a good man in the right place. After that, we tried to get the equaliser in the game, but instead we got another at the other end.”
