NEJC GRADISAR

"I am really looking forward to the start of the European Championship"

Our Slovenian striker spoke about how he thinks the Slovenians will perform at the European Championship and we also found out who else he will be cheering for at the upcoming tournament.

The 2024 European Championship kicks off on Friday evening with the Germany vs Scotland match, in which the Hungarian national team will participate for the third time in a row. Our neighbours Slovenia will also be at the tournament, so naturally we asked our Slovenian U21 player Nejc Gradisar how he expects the Slovenians to perform at the tournament.

"Of course, like all footballers and football lovers, I'm looking forward to the start of the European Championship on Friday night. I wouldn't dare to guess who the eventual winners will be, I think there are several favourites for the tournament. For obvious reasons, I am most curious about the Slovenian team. We are in the same group with Denmark, England and Serbia. All three of our opponents are very strong teams, of course the English are top class, but I don't expect an easy match against the Danes and the Serbs either. I think if we could finish second in the group, it would be a very good achievement. I would also like to watch the Hungarian national team matches, as Vidi's captain Attila Fiola is also involved in the national team, and I will be cheering for Fityó and his country to do as well as possible. I think, although I don't like to bet, that with a bit of luck the Hungarian team could even finish second in their group behind the host Germans. Besides the Slovenian team, I am also hoping Croatia will do well at the European Championship, as they are in a real group of death along with Spain, Albania and Italy. Next week we start our preparations with Vidi, obviously training is the most important thing, but whenever I can and time permits, I will watch the games on TV. I expect exciting, high quality matches and of course Slovenian victories." Nejc Gradisar told our website.
