Goaless draw at the home of Kisvarda

There were no goals in manager Imre Szabics' first game in charge of Vidi.

Match 27 of the OTP league NB I saw Vidi travel east to the home of Kisvarda. It was manager Imre Szabics' first game in charge of MOL Fehervar FC. He chose the following eleven players for the early afternoon kick off:  Kovács D. - Bolla, Musliu, Stopira, Hangya - Fiola, Pinto - Nego, Nikolics, Petryak - Zivzivadze.

The first chance of the game arrived after 10 minutes when Nego shot over from 25 meters. A minute later and at the other end, Melnyik's effort went 15 meters wide of the goal. Then with around 15 minutes on the clock, Nikolic passed to Zivzivadze on the left, but his shot ended up being blocked.

Attila Fiola had scored against Andorra for Hungary earlier in the week and he tried to do the same for Vidi. His 25 minute powerful shot ended up on the arms of Dombo in the home goal. Petryak was fouled inside the box on 27 minutes but the referee did not blow his whistle. Fiola entered the referee's notebook for the second time after 35 minutes. This saw Vidi reduced to ten men as Bumba lifted his header just wide of the right post for Kisvarda. The first half finished with a chance for the home side. Leoni's corner was met by the head of Cirkovic, but Kovacs collected it comfortably.

The second period began with a chance for Camaj, whose shot from 17 meters went wide of the target. Sassa then sent his shot into the side-netting from 14 meters. A corner from Petryak after 64 minutes was headed over by Stopira from close range. There were very few chances, but plenty of battles in this game. The home side had more of the possession with their man advantage. A very good save from Kovacs following a curling corner from Kovacsreti after 74 minutes was punched off the goal line.

The final minutes of the game did not produce a real chance. Imre Szabics' debut as Vidi manager ended in a 0-0 draw. Vidi are next in action next Saturday when they take on Ujpest FC at the MOL Arena Sosto. That game will kick off at 17:00pm.
