Friendly 1-1 draw with Beijing Renhe

MOL Vidi FC played the first of two friendly games on Monday against the Chinese first division side.

Vidi played the first of two friendly games on Monday against Chinese first division side Beijing Renhe. The game kicked off at 13:30pm and manager Marko Nikolic fielded the following eleven: Tujvel – Hangya, Vinícius, Tóth Bence, Tamás Krisztián – Réti – Berecz, Pátkai – Kovács István – Futács, Scepovic. Former Vidi player Aleksandar Stanojevic is the manager of Beijing Renhe.

With 17 minutes played, Istvan Kovacs played a nice ball in between the defenders to Berecz, but it was just too long and Zhang Lie got hold of the ball to clear. Nine minutes later and Scepovic hit a shot at goal from 20 meters, but the Chinese keeper was alert to get down and palm the ball away for a corner. Patkai was then pushed inside the box after a ball in from the right by Hangya. The referee pointed at the spot and Istvan Kovacs calmly found the bottom right to make it 1-0.

A free kick for the opponents ended with Liu Jian with a chance on goal but he could not hit the target from close range. However, the Beijing side would go one better a couple of minutes later when they equalised. Wang Wang crossed and Diop stormed in to head home off the post to make it 1-1. There were no further chances as the sides went in at the break with the score at 1-1.

Good combined play on 53 minutes involving Kovacs and Patkai ended with Scepovic and a defender chasing for the ball, but the Vidi forward could not get a shot in on goal in the end. The match was an hour old when Wang Wang went down the right and sent in a low cross for Diop, but the Senegal forward hit his shot over the bar from close range. Hangya sent in a good ball 8 minutes later that Berecz volleyed at goal, but it did not hit the target. Scepovic brought a save out of the keeper from his shot a minute later.

Sos stood behind the ball on 80 minutes with a free kick. His shot from 17 meters was aimed for the bottom right, but it went just wide of the post. Sos then chose not to shoot after 82 minutes but instead feed the ball to Berecz, and the midfielders shot was saved by keeper Zhang Lie. The ball was mainly in the Chinese half towards the end of the game but there were no further goals and the referee blew for full time. MOL Vidi's third friendly game ended in a 1-1 draw.
