The first was with Kevin Varga down the left following a counter attack, before shooting with his right from 20 meters, but his shot came back off the bar. Then Ferenczi had an effort with his left that landed in the hands of Kovacsik.

Huszti had a free kick on 26 minutes that found Juhasz at the far post, but the captain's header went over the bar. Vidi had a massive chance after 29 minutes: Nego stepped in behind the defender and found Patkai with a pass, who calmly dribbled past Ferenczi, leaving him on the ground, and then finding Futacs. The forward controlled the ball but could not beat Kosicky from close range with the keeper pulling off a good save. Huszti stood behind the ball with another free kick after 33 minutes that was similar to the one that led to a goal against Ujpest. However, this time his shot did not hit the target.

With 39 minutes on the clock, Vinicius brought down Zsori on the edge of the box. Bodi and Tozser stood behind the ball with the latter hitting powerfully, which took a deflection off Juhasz and out for a corner. The final moment of the first half saw Vinicius again being cautioned. This time Tozser tried but his shot went well over the bar. The referee blew for half time and the teams went in with Vidi leading 1-0.

There were no changes at the break and the second half began with two shots: the first came from Debrecen player Zsori after just 16 seconds. Then Tamas passed to Huszti, who controlled it and shot straight at Kosicky from 18 meters.

Szecsi received a pass on 48 minutes and turned inside before shooting but Kovacsik was well positioned to save well. Huszti took another corner after 59 minutes that came off the head of Juhasz, but his header went over the bar. Bodi had a chance after 61 minutes from 22 meters following a corner. Kovacsik punched it clear and Vinicius was able to clear the ball.

The match became heated after 75 minutes with referee Adam Farkas showing his 8th yellow card. The 79th minute saw Patkai find Nikolov who took it to the goal line before crossing, but Pavkovics slid in and appeared to make contact with the ball with his hand. The referee waved play on.

Hodzic came on for Kovacs and another substitute Stopira also had a chance after coming on for Futacs. A cross in from Nego on 82 minutes, which seemed to affect keeper Kosicky with the ball falling to Hodzic, who slipped but the ball still went to Patkai, but the midfielder could not direct the ball into the empty goal. Debrecen went down the other end and a shot came off Vinicius and just wide of the goal.

Vidi were reduced to 10 men on 87 minutes when Juhasz tried to get hold of the ball on the edge of the box, which saw Haris fall to the ground. Referee Farkas pulled out his second yellow to the MOL Vidi captain and sent him off. The resulting free kick from 18 meters went straight at the wall.

Debrecen put Vidi under pressure in the closing stages and Bodi took their 14th corner of the evening after 89 minutes. However, the ball was cleared once again and Huszti went into the book to become the 7th yellow for Vidi. Manager Marko Nikolic was also sent from the bench in the final moments, before Takacs shot over from 15 meters for the visiting side.
