Tamás Pető was born on 8th June 1974 in Ajka. He started his career in Veszprém, then in 1995 he moved to Győr, from where he moved to Székesfehérvár a year later. In the 1996-97 season he scored 6 goals in 37 matches for our team. From there he moved to Újpest, where he was a member of the last title winning team of the purple and white in 1998. In the early 2000s, he spent a year in Belgium before returning home for a year and winning a championship bronze medal with Vasas. He then spent six years in the Netherlands with NAC Breda, where he made 83 appearances and scored 5 goals. He finished his active career with Lombard-Pápa in 2009. He played 14 times for the Hungarian national team between 1998 and 2002. Between 2011 and 2012, and in spring 2015 and 2019, he worked as a scout for Vidi, and since summer 2015 he has been assistant coach - after Bernard Casoni's departure he also managed the team as acting head coach.
He left the team in 2018. In June 2024 he returned to Fehérvár as head coach, and under his guidance the team began preparations for the 2024/2025 season.
