Vidi win the final home match of the season at the Sostoi

Trebotic' 28th minute goal settled things against Kecskemet. There were also two penalties missed at both ends.

The final home match of the 2014-15 season began in lovely conditions. There was a celebration on the pitch ahead of the game to remember the UEFA cup final side of 30 years ago. The club and supporters were up on their feet to acknowledge the remarkable run of Ferenc Kovacs' side. Former legend Jozsef Szabo kicked the match off as the ex players walked off the pitch with gifts in their hand. Adam Gyurcso recently played his 100th league game at Debrecen and club director Győző Burcsa was on hand to congratulate the young winger.

There was also a minute’s silence to remember Lajos Majer, who was part of that 1985 UEFA cup side, and Zoltan Molnar who was the masseur. Jozsef Jung also passed away over the recent days. The game kicked off with Vidi having a big chance. Brachi's cross was headed away by one of the defenders, while an Alvarez corner was headed wide by Ivanovski at the far post. Alvarez then played himself clear on 3 minutes, but eventually hit a right footed shot after being squeezed out a little, which was cleared off the line by a defender. Ivanovski sent a powerful shot over the bar from 17 meters, which was then followed by a left footed strike by Brachi that was dealt with by Tujvel in the visiting goal.

There was also a dangerous cross from Novak at the other end for the visitors. Chances continued to come with Vinicius having a good header, and a curling Ivanovski shot that went just wide of the Kecskemet goal. This all happened in the opening 12 minutes of an exciting game. Kecskemet were then awarded a penalty against the run of play. Brachi dived in to block a shot by Kitl, but the ball struck the right back's hand and referee Fabian pointed at the spot. Bebeto stood up and saw his low shot saved by Calatayud in the home goal. That kept the score at 0-0!

Kovacs and Feczesin had chances at the other end, but both were cleared by men in violet shirts. A Brachi free kick on 18 minutes was tipped away by Tujvel. Dutchman Kees Luijckx was then forced to come off with a head injury in the 25th minute. A clash of heads with opponent Eninful saw him come off the worse and the midfielder was replaced by Simon. The lead arrived on 29 minutes for Videoton: An Alvarez corner ended up at the feet of Dinko Trebotic, who allowed it to bounce and then struck a sweet right footed shot in to the bottom of the net (1-0).

Ivanovski was then brought down inside the area after 40 minutes. The match official awarded a penalty kick as a result. Feczesin took it and sent a low shot the wrong side of the post. Feczesin then connected with a Brachi cross, which produced another save from Tujvel. The first half ended with a Brachi free kick that was blocked by the visitor's wall.

The 56th minute saw Alvarez roll the ball back to Marevel who shot powerfully from 18 meters, but the ball deflected off a defender and away for a corner. Alvarez then found Vinicius in the middle but the central defender headed wide. Calatayud saved a Novak shot on the hour mark, but the assistant referee had his flag up for offside. There were small chances in the next 15 minutes as the tempo slowed down. Feczesin found himself alone in front of goal on 76 minutes. His smart right foot shot came back off the post.

A curling ball from Heffler went wide from 22 meters. Csillag shot over from distance with 5 minutes left on the clock. Calatayud then punched another Csillag effort away as the minutes ticked away. Novak did put the ball in the back of the net but it was disallowed.

The 3 minutes of injury time did not produce any goals and the final result was 1-0. Vidi waved goodbye to the Sostoi supporters with 3 points.

Vidi play their final match of the 2014-15 season at the home of Ferencvaros next weeked. The kick off time is to be decided.
