Two goals in time added on turned the game on its head and gave Vidi three important points.
Videoton were in OTP league action on Saturday in Miskolc. The league game was cushioned in between two very important Champions League games. Manager Bernard Casoni had to do without injured captain Juhasz, Feczesin and Kovacs. Rudolf, who joined the club a week ago, still needs time to regain his match fitness.
There were also several changes to the starting eleven as a result of next week's second leg game with FK Bate Borisov. Pajovics came in for Danilovics in goal. Oliveira was rested with Heffler taking his place on the right wing. Young 19 year old Alhassane Soumah started the match up front.
It was DVTK who began the game better. Barczi could have put his side ahead in the opening minutes, but the home supporters still had to wait for the opener. That came with six minutes on the clock and through a penalty. Nikhazi took the ball past Vinicius, with referee Invanyi judging that the player had been fouled. He pointed to the spot as a result. Vladimir Koman stood behind the ball and placed it beyond the hand of keeper Pajovics. There was 29 minutes played when Vidi registered their first real chance on the home goal. A free kick from Gyurcso was headed on by Lang, which produced a very good save from keeper Antal in the home goal. There were no further chances as Vidi came in at the break trailing by a goal.
The second half started with a very big chance for Videoton. A corner by Gyurcso was flicked on and Mareval shot wide when he was well placed in front of goal. A Gyurcso free kick on 63 minutes came back off the bar as the visiting side tried to press for the leveller. Pajovics reacted very well to deny Bognar with 73 minutes on the clock. The action continued thick and fast with both teams playing their part to produce an entertaining game.
Antal saved well to stop Ivanovski from scoring on 80 minutes. DVTK player Takacs then found himself alone on goal, but he was stopped by a really good save from young Pajovics in the Vidi goal, who had a very good game. There was 5 minutes added on for injury time. DVTK had possession inside the Vidi half and it appeared as if they would play out the remaining minutes. Koman tried to hit a long ball back to his keeper. Oliveira was alert and run on to the ball to take it past the keeper, who had run out of his box, and then calmly slip the ball in to the back of the empty net (1-1). Vidi continued to go forward in search of the winner as the minutes ticked by. That came in the final seconds and with 95 minutes played. Mareval curled the ball in to the box and midfielder Patkai connected with his head to beat Antal and score the all-important winner (1-2).
It was a dramatic game with plenty of fight and played in a good atmosphere. Videoton secured a very important three points at a difficult place. Now the attention will switch to Wednesday's vital second leg tie with BATE Borisov. League action continues next weekend with a home game against FTC.
