Videoton FC produced a late rally to pick up a home win on Sunday. Ujpest had been down to ten men, following a sending off, and despite the many chances that came Videoton's way, they were frustrated by Balajcza and the visiting defence for close to 80 minutes of this OTP league match. Paulo Sousa went for a settled line up, with the back four more or less picking itself. The midfield that included Gosztonyi on the right, ended up with Elek having to sit on the subs bench, due to the strong squad personel available to Paulo Sousa, while Alves led the forward line on his own. Ujpest included former Vidi captain Zoltan Liptak in their defence, and apart from the keeper, it was a very young side, with little experience to cope with Videoton's attacking football.

Ujpest kicked off attacking their own supporters, who numbered around 300. Vidi midfield duo Sandor and Mitrovics were facing their former side, with another ex Ujpest pair of Vasziljevics and Vasko on the subs bench. Alves played in Gosztonyi after 9 minutes, with the wingers cross being headed over his own goal by Liptak. Walter had a chance on 13 minutes, with the tricky winger testing keeper Balajcza from a tight angle. Vidi were controlling things nicely, despite the young visitors showing plenty of enthusiasm. Balazs Toth had a great effort from 25 meters out after 18 minutes, with the midfielders shot flying just over the bar. Balajcza needed two attempts to hold on to an Oliveira shot after 27 minutes. Brachi had the last chance of the first period. His free ick from the left ended with the inswinging kick clipping the top of the visitors crossbar.

Alves saw his header come back off the bar after a corner on 71 minutes. The resistence was broken on 79 minutes, when Walter's lovely ball to the far post was headed home well by sub Nikolics. It was 2-0 three minutes later, when Nikolics beat Balajcza to make the game safe for the red and blues. Nikolics was looking in great form and was a big threat to the young Ujpest defence. Nikolics then turned provider on 85 minutes, when he released Alves, who shot past the helpless Ujpest keeper to make it 3-0. The final moment of interest came a minute from time when Liptak wasted too much time and was booked. Videoton FC have now made it three wins in a row, and things are picking up nicely, with Videoton ending the autumn season in fourth place.
