It was never going to be an easy game at the home of Haladas on Wednesday afternoon. The Szombathely side have yet to lose in the spring season, having made a good start. Vidi were last able to win at the Rohonci street stadium on the 1st May 2004. José Gomes' side travelled down to Szombathely on Tuesday, eager to get Sunday's defeat at Diosgyőr out of their system. The game began at a slow pace and in nice spring weather. There was a small crowd inside the stadium due to the early afternoon kick off. The majority of home supporters were probably mostly at their work place at the time of the 16:00pm kick off.

Nikolics received a great ball after 5 minutes, and the forward tried to work the ball round the keeper, but Haladas goalkeeper Rozsa, managed to clear the danger with his feet. Halmosi got hold of the ball on 20 minutes and he fed Rado with a lovely ball, but left back Stopira was well placed to deflect the ball away. The green and whites came forward once again in the 24th minute, but Iszlai failed to find the target. Vidi had a chance 2 minutes later, when Rosza confidently saved a shot from Kovacs.

There was further action in the 33rd minute, which resulted in a goal for Vidi. Former Haladas player Kovacs found Alvarez with a perfect ball, and the Vidi midfielder kept his composure to find the far corner of the net. Home striker Rado could have levelled after 37 minutes, but he delayed his shot and that gave Vinicius enough time to put his foot in and steal the ball. The final chance of the first half came in the 45th minute following a long throw in from Gabor Nagy, which found the head of Ugrai, but it sailed over the bar.

Haladas manager Tamas Artner made a change at the break, but that failed to change the overall picture of the game. Ugrai showed good skill after 51 minutes, playing himself clear, but his strong shot from 15 meters out went just wide of the post. Haladas had more of the ball in the second half, and attacked more often than the visitors. Rado ran down the left wing on 68 minutes, before cutting the ball back to Gabor Nagy, but his strike did not find the target. The closing minutes of the game resulted in Haladas enjoying the majority of possession.

Vidi were happy to defend, with manager José Gomes sending on Roland Juhasz to strengthen the backline. The match official blew for full time and Vidi picked up a very important three points, which sees them remain in third place, just three points behind second in the table MTK. Vidi now face another tough test at league leader Győri ETO on Sunday evening.
