The views of the two managers on the match

Gyorgy Mezey felt that his side battled heroically

Gyorgy Mezey: "The team played very well in the first half, and we came in at the break with a two-goal lead. I was forced to make changes to our line up for the second half: I was not that sure about Lazar, while Andics was struggling to cope with Abwo. I thought that Elek would give me more pace, and he could handle the challenge better. Papa managed to get back in the game after a mistake by Andics. Their goal caused a panic reaction to our side, but our side is good enough to get over periods like that. I was not that pleased with the referee, and I thought at one point, that the ref would blow, whenever we got the ball in to their half. This was not done on purpose, but it cannot work like this on the pitch. I was very tense with what was going on out on the pitch, and I must have said something to the ref, which you are not supposed to. I apologized to him as soon as he came over to me. However, he sent me from the bench despite this. The players then fought heroically for the remainder of the match. There was a new feeling of uncertainty, and the players put everything into maintaining the lead, and see the match out to the end. They managed to do this, and I give them all the praise for that. There will now be a break in the league season, which we will be working throughout it, but I am now really looking forward to our next game against Paks."

Gyorgy Veber: "We have to forget the first half as a whole. I was very surprised at the mental weakness of my side. We played like defeatists, and Videoton took advantage of this. Our performance was zero. We lost the game, as you cannot give a side a one half advantage and then expect to win. I then saw many positives in the second half, and we did what I had asked of them. A game lasts for 90 minutes, and there was no time left, and we only did that much. I thought that we deserved a point on the way we played in the second period. However, the fact that they scored two and we only managed one, meant that we ended up without any points."
