The best ever start to a season with this win over MTK

Kovacs scored his first ever double in a first division game, while Feczesin scored his first goal for Vidi, as Nikolics equalled a club record, with Vidi continuing their excellent start to the season.

Videoton kicked off their fifth league match of the new season against an MTK side that had won three of their opening four games. Club director Győző Burcsa and Managing Director Attila Balogh were present to greet Nemanja Nikolics, after the forward had hit his 100th league goal last weekend at Nyiregyhaza. They also celebrated Gyorgy Sandor's 250th first division game against the blue and white Budapest side.

The home side made a dream start to the game after taking the lead within two minutes: Gyurcso went down the wing before crossing into the centre, and the ball rebounded off a defender in to the path of Kovacs, who from 10 meters out made no mistake. Keeper Hegedus did get a touch to the ball but he could not stop it finding the net (1-0).

Oliveira played in Gyurcso three minutes later, who hit the post, with Sandor shooting powerfully from close range, but Hegedus did really well to save. The first MTK chance arrived on 7 minutes, when Kanta took a free kick from 19 meters, which Calatayud confidently saved.

The 12th minute saw Oliveira find Gyurcso with a lovely ball, who controlled it and calmly found the back of the net from 14 meters out. (2-0). The score became 3-0 shortly later when Kovacs hit a sweet shot with the outside of his foot, that gave the midfielder his first double strike in a first division game. (3-0).

The supporters saw Gyurcso with another chance in the closing moments of the opening half, but there was no further change to the scoreline at half time.

The second half started with a shot from Sandor, while the fourth Vidi goal came on 55 minutes. Gyurcso's corner was headed towards goal by Juhasz, whose effort would probably have found the back of the net, but Nikolics made things sure by connecting with the ball on the way in.

Nikolics equalled a club record with the goal by scoring his sixth goal in consecutive games. Andre Alves had previously held the record before that. (4-0).

MTK found their feet with a Horvath header and a chance from Frank. Simon headed at goal from a Gyurcso corner on 77 minutes, but the ball was blocked on the goal line by Nikolics, who could not get out of the way. MTK player Horvath did hit the crossbar two minutes later, before Kanta curled a free kick wide, while Vass' shot four minutes from time was saved by Calatayud.

The final touches to a good performance came in the 90th minute when Gyurcso crossed low from the right, and Feczesin showed good skill to flick the ball home for his first league goal for Vidi. (5-0).

Videoton recorded a confident win and deserved this victory over MTK. Vidi have never managed to beat MTK by a 5-0 scoreline, and retain their 100% start to the season, and lead the table with 15 points. Videoton are next in action on the 30th August with a home game against Puskas Academy FC.
