The two manager's spoke to the gathered press after the final whistle.
Tamás Pető: We did not deserve to lose when you look at the whole game. We did a lot for the win, but we could not score. We also had chances especially in the first half. This can only get better in the future. It is hard to replace 8 lost weeks of work in such a short period of time. The players are currently unable to give 100% of football every 3 days. They played well until the 60th minute, but we did not have any punch in us thereafter. I cannot really say anything about the penalty as I was far away from the action. I feel that the sending off of Roland Juhasz was also a blow to the national team. It would have been important for him to have played again before the qualification match against Romania.
László Csaba: I would like to start by wishing Videoton the best of luck against Lech Poznan. It would be very important for Hungarian football for them to make up the three goal deficit and be there in the group stage. Looking at the match: the first half was not a delight for the eyes and I will say why. We prepared all week to make Videoton lethargic. To make them feel that they can come at us and attack a little. I think that this worked well and things generally happened as we thought it would. We practiced defending set pieces and our opponents did not really have any chance in this area. We played faster and more dynamically in the second half. We did what we really wanted to. We also had two chances before we scored, which we really should have converted. You could sense then that we were on top of Videoton, and the game was settled once that penalty went in. Football is like this: you do not get points for delightful football, although we did get 3 points from today's game.
