Vidi will be looking to extend their unbeaten start to the season against Ujpest.
A poor start to the season resulted in Ujpest entering the transfer market before it closed to strengthen their squad. The lilacs suffered defeats to Puskas Academy and Kisvarda as well as two draws with Paks and Diosgyor in their opening four games. Their squad was so thin at times that they were forced to name just five substitutes in some matches. Jonathan Heris returned to the club from Puskas Academy in the summer while Antonio Perosevic and veteran Peter Szakaly also came in. Also arriving was former youth team player Robert Feczesin who has scored 3 goals in his first two games. Ujpest lost to Honved since then but scored twice. There were a further three goals against DVSC in their win. The Hungarian Cup saw them overcome NB III side Hatvan with a confident 2-0 win.
There have been three ever present players in their opening 6 matches. Ristevski, Sankovic and Obinna are the trio while Onovo has also appeared in a central defensive position on top of his usual defensive midfield role. He has so far missed just 20 minutes of the season. Their keeper is former Vidi player Pajovic, who was named on the bench in the most recent game. His place went to David Banai. Top goalscorer is the already mentioned Feczesin, who also leads the Canadian table. Closely behind are Benjamin Balazs, Zsoter, Pauljevic and Burekovic. InStat lists Heris in first place with a score of 266 but he has only appeared in one game. Pauljevic is behind him on 261 and that is 36th place in the total list. It is interesting to note that Ujpest last managed to win here in a league game in 2007. Peter Simek provided and assist in that game for Vidi, while Ujpest had Gyorgy Sandor and current director of football Zoltan Kovacs in their side. The latter went on to score in that game.
