Vidi led 2-0 at half time thanks to a Nikolic double. Two further goals from Petryak secured a 4-0 win.
Ujpest FC were the visitors to the MOL Arena Sosto on Saturday afternoon in match 28 of the NB I season. Imre Szabics chose the following eleven for his first home match in charge: Kovács - Bolla, Rus, Musliu, Stopira - Funsho, Nego, Pinto, Petryak - Nikolic, Zivzivadze. An ankle injury to Szilveszter Hangya meant he missed out. Ferenc Csongradi and Tibor Vegh were both honoured after the pair celebrated their 65th birthday's respectively.
The first action of the game arrived early on after 5 minutes. Pinto releasing Petryak inside the box and he fell to the ground, but referee Berke did not see a foul. However, things were different 3 minutes later when Csongvai fouled Funsho inside the penalty area. Nikolic sent the resulting penalty into the top corner to make it 1-0.
A fine move after 11 minutes saw Funsho play the ball back into the path of Bolla, who from 15 meters shot over. Petryak again fell to the floor after 18 minutes but once again the whistle remained silent.
There was 20 minutes on the clock when Zivzivadze played in Nikolic, who from 15 meters sent his shot into the side netting. Ten minutes later and good skill from Petryak fed Zivzivadze, who from 7 meters hit the post. Vidi were celebrating their second goal after 33 minutes. Petryak took a corner and it was flicked on by Zivzivadze into the path of Nikolic, who calmly rolled the ball into the corner in a well worked move. That also made Nikolic the top goalscorer with 8 goals against Ujpest over the years.
Kovacs pulled off a good save in the Vidi goal with 5 minutes left of the first half. He reacted well to an Antonov free kick. The second half began with two corners from Petryak, with the first proving more dangerous when Csongvai almost headed into his own net. Nego played the ball to Funsho after 63 minutes, who then returned the ball, but hsi shot from 13 meters went wide of the right post.
Rus played a lovely ball to Petryak after 69 minutes and the Ukrainian winger controlled the ball really well before hitting a fine shot from 10 meters into the back of the net 3-0.
Tallo shot low from 17 meters on 71 minutes, but Kovacs was equal to it. Banai had to do well to keep out Funsho after 84 minutes as Vidi kept the pressure on the visiting goal. A fourth goal was to come as Petryak scored his second goal with a lovely 20 meters shot into the bottom right to make it 4-0.
Vidi have now won three times against Ujpest this season. There was a 5-1 home win, which was followed up by a 5-0 away win in January. Vidi are next in action in the MOL Hungarian Cup on Thursday evening when we travel to MTK in the semi-finals.
