Report: 4-1 friendly win over Csakvar

Videoton ran out comfortable winners in a morning friendly match against Csakvar.

The international break gave Vidi the chance to have a friendly game on Saturday morning. The break in the first division games meant that they could take on second division Csakvar at the Sostoi stadium. There were over 150 supporters present to watch Ferenc Horvath's side play on one of the training pitches behind the main stadium, which is currently being demolished to make way for a new modern stadium.

The action started and the first chance arrived after 4 minutes. Fejes played the ball out left to Geresi, who shot just wide of the post from 14 meters. It was the visitors who then went ahead a minute later: a corner ended with the ball being cleared upto the half way line. The ball was then played back in and Kocsis was left unmarked in front of goal to calmly stroke the ball into the bottom left hand corner from close range. Keeper Kovacsik had no chance. (0-1).

Haraszti then raced up the right wing on 9 minutes, before attempting to put the ball into the middle, but the ball rebounded off a defender and in to the back of the Csakvar net (1-1).

The resulting kick off soon saw Vidi gain possession. Kovacs got hold of the ball on the edge of the box, before running alone towards goal and hitting a sweet shot with the outside of his right foot (2-1).

Vidi continued to be dangerous with Haraszti and Kovacs causing problems for the visiting defenders. Kovacs was fouled after 33 minutes, and this was inside the area with the referee pointing straight at the spot. The midfielder picked himself up to calmly place the ball into the back of the net (3-1).

Haraszti then scored his second goal at the end of the first half. Szolnoki provided him with a good ball, which the winger fired from close range home (4-1).

Manager Ferenc Horvath made 8 changes at the break to his team. That meant that Gyánó - Nego, Vinícius, Varga, Szolnoki - Pölöskei - Suljic, Heffler, Sejben - Tischler, Soumah run out for the second 45 minutes.

Csakvar were forced into a change after 54 minutes when their keeper came off with an injury. Csakvar then hit the bar on the hour mark through a close range Molnar effort, which keeper Gyano got his hand to for a corner.

A Heffler free kick a couple of minutes later also rattled the bar from 22 meters out. Sejben got hold of the ball and took it down the left wing, before unselfishly finding Suljic, who from 10 meters out brought out a fine save from keeper Grof.

The game was more balanced in the second half but there were no further goals in this friendly. That meant that two goals each from Kovacs and Haraszti gave Videoton a 4-1 win.

Vidi are next in action on the 2nd April when they travel to Budapest to play Honved. That game will kick off at 18:30pm.
