Videoton were in league cup action on Wednesday afternoon when they travelled to Budapest to play MTK. The home side emerged 1-0 winners in the first match of the group stage, which included the debut of U19 academy player Patrik Kiraly.

"Paulo Sousa told me to start getting warmed up in the 40th minute of the game, as I would be coming on at half time. This is exactly what happened, as I came on at the break in my own position, which is as a defensive midfielder. I felt that I played well in the match against MTK. Even though MTK won thanks to an unlucky goal, we played better and had more possession of the ball. I played a long cross ball, as well as blocking a shot from one of their players, and I was also able to help the team out with a few precise passes. MTK's captain Jozsef Kanta, congratulated me after the match. Videoton have another league cup game next week, and I hope that I will be given another chance." - said Patrik Kiraly.
