Videoton were in OTP league action on Friday evening with a visit to third placed MTK. The match at the Hidegkuti Nandor stadium was played out in front of a small crowd. Paulo Sousa fielded a strong side, which saw Szolnoki come in at left back in place of the injured Stopira. Caneira missed the match due to a ban, which meant that Kaka partnered Vinicius at the heart of the defence. Vidi, who were playing in an all red strip, began the match agressively, playing the ball around nicely in the early exchanges. The first chance of the match came after 7 minutes, when Mitrovics sent a high ball in to Nikolics, who despite being under pressure from a defender, clipped the crossbar with his shot. Oliveira then did very well after 15 minutes, showing good skill as he approached goal, before releasing Nikolics, who was flagged offside by the match official.

The home side then took a sudden lead after 21 minutes. Tischler received the ball in the middle of the half, before moving forward with the ball and shooting from around 23 meters out, which found the bottom right hand corner to make it 1-0. Vidi almost replied a minute later, with keeper Hegedus palming Mitrovics' shot onto the post. The game quietened down with no chances being created by either side for the next 10 minutes. Vidi then found themselves 2-0 down, after Konyves shot through a crowd of players, before finding his own team mate, with the ball ending at the feet of Csiki, who turned and hit a 10 meter effort in to the back of the net.

Vidi tried to come back in to the game with a free kick from Mitrovics, which required a brave save from Hegedus in the MTK goal. Things could have gone from bad to worse for Videoton, when Tischler was played in on a one-on-one after 40 minutes. However, Vinicius did very well to recover and clear the threat from in front of the Videoton goal. The final chance of the first period came from a Wolfe shot, which needed Bozsovics to react well to. Referee Adam Nemeth blew for half time with Vidi needing to step things up in the second half.

Paulo Sousa made two changes at the break, bringing on Gyurcso and Kovacs for Toth and Oliveira respectively. Gyurcso found himself on the left wing, while Walter went over to the right. Kovacs did really well on 49 minutes, showing good skill to play himself clear, before shooting with his left foot from 23 meters out, which ended with Hegedus producing a good save. Sandor rolled the ball to Gyurcso on 52 minutes, who then curled the ball over the bar. Vidi were much more in the game in the second half, and were doing the majority of the attacking. Nikolics almost gave the travelling supporters something to sing about, when he headed a Walter cross straight at the keeper, who did well to keep the ball out of the net. There was more action three minutes later, when the ball fell to Vinicius after a free kick from the left by Gyurcso. Vinicius was very close with his shot, but once again the MTK goal remain intact.

Paulo Sousa sent on Paraiba on 66 minutes, and he showed his pace almost straight away. Vidi switched to three at the back, with four up front including the two wide men. The home side remained under constant pressure with Paraiba and Nikolics causing problems for the home defence. Videoton were awarded a penalty on 80 minutes, after Sandor went down in the box. Striker Nikolics sent the keeper the wrong way to put the Fehervar side back in the match.

MTK then restored their two goal advantage following a good move. Kanta sent the ball into the middle, and his low cross was met at the far post by Tischler who rolled the ball into the empty net. MTK player Kelemen was sent off two minutes later for kicking out at a Vidi player. The final chance of the match came from the feet of captain Sandor. His long range strike found the back of the net, with Hegedus having no chance to keep it out. MTK held out despite more pressure towards the end from Videoton. Nemeth blew for full time with MTK keeping all three points at the Hidegkuti stadium. Videoton now have two big games coming up with Basel visiting the Sostoi on Thursday in the Europa league, before Debrecen are the guests at the Sostoi on Sunday.
