In somewhat sleepy conditions and in front of 3,500 supporters, Vidi entertained Honved in the third fixture of the OTP league season. Paulo Sousa's side were up against the league leaders, who had picked up six points from a possible six. There were changes in the starting line up as several players were rested, following the great 3-0 away win in Belgium hust 3 days earlier.

Vidi continued to press the visitors following their 11th minute strike. The next big chance fell in the 18th minute, when Walter Lee crossed for the tall Neto, who headed over the bar, depsite being challenged by the defender. Referee Szabo then raced over to the Videoton dugout to calm things down, while at the same time several players faced up to each other.

There were no real chances over the next 10-15 minutes, but Vidi were directing play at the same time. Haraszti's corner after 37 minutes fell to Neto, who sent the ball into the middle, but the defenders cleared. Honved were happy to slow play down, managing to go into half time a goal up.

Vidi began the second half on the attack, with Honved defending and relying on counter attacks, when the opportunity came their way. It was from one of these break away's after 53 minutes, that they almost made it 2-0. Delczeg connected badly with the ball, and the danger was cleared. Nikolics and Gyurcso came on after 59 minutes to add to the Vidi attack, with Szekeres and Haraszti coming off. Mitrovics then put the ball in front of Kovacs a few minutes later, and it appeared as if the young player had been brought down inside the penalty area. However, once again the match officials waved against Vidi and Honved seemed to have plenty of good fortune. Referee Szabo handed out a yellow card to Kovacs to make things even worse. There were plenty of events that occurred on 69 minutes. Gyurcso sent in a good high ball from the right, which just went over the head of Torghelle. before Neto was given a yellow card by Szabo. Things became even more bizarre as the referee then decided to send Paulo Sousa from the bench. It seemed a very harsh decision, which no one inside the Sostoi stadium apart from the match officials understood. It also made the atmosphere inside the stadium much more tense. There was still time for a further 4 yellow cards to be handed out by the busy Szabo in the final 20 minutes, making it a total of 9 for the match!

Honved's Ignjatovic headed from close range after 75 minutes, and it took a very good save from Bozsovics to keep Vidi in the match. Brachi then delivered a very dangerous free kick from 25 meters, after 76 minutes, which curled just wide of the right hand post. Time was going by quickly but still Vidi continued to find the all important equaliser. Gyurcso got hold of the ball on 81 minutes, showing good skills, before passing it back to Mitrovics, who shot over. Honved continued to counter attack well in the final minutes of the match. They had two good chances, but missed both of them.

There were 5 minutes of time added on, and in the first of those, Torghelle broke away on the right, before colliding with Kemenes in the Honved goal, which the referee gave a penalty kick for. Szabo also sent off the Honved keeper, to set up an exciting final few minutes. The visitors had used up all of their substitutes forcing them to put defender Lovric in goal for the spot kick. Nikolics stepped up to hit the penalty, but Lovric guessed the right way to palm away the kick and earn Honved the three points. It was a very frustrating game for Videoton FC, who had travelled back victoriously from Belgium on Friday, and perhaps the players did not have enough time to recover both mentally and physically.
