Samsung Suwon led by three goals thanks to some quick counter attacking football in the first half, but it was Vidi that created the chances in the second half, although only Juhasz managed to score.
Vidi were up against South Korean side Samsung Suwon Bluewings in the first friendly match of the second training camp in Spain. An overcast 11c San Pedro stadium with a good pitch awaited the two sides. Suwon ran out with their strongest eleven while Joan Carrillo experimented in several positions that were different to that experienced during the autumn season.
The first chance fell to Vidi, with Feczesin turning on goal after a ball from Pajac, and hitting a low left footed strike from 15 meters, but it was dealt with. The 4th minute saw Gyurcso show good skill before crossing from the right but the ball bounced off the hand of Feczesin. It was Vidi that directed the first 10 minutes, so the first South Korean goal came against the run of play and was unexpected. A Won Ko cross from the right was headed in to the bottom right corner by Chong on 11 minutes. (0-1).
A ball in on 14 minutes from Alvarez on the right found Chakla at the far post, but No tipped the ball for a corner. Juhasz headed the resulting corner wide of the mark. Uncertainty in the Korean defence shortly after allowed Pajac to pounce and shoot but it rebounded off the keeper.
There was a nice attack after 27 minutes, with Pajac pulling away down the left before sending in a low cross, which Feczesin found Sandor with and the midfielder sent a powerful shot at goal, which No saved. The South Koreans extended their lead towards the end of the first half hour, with goalscorer Chong going down the right and then passing in to the middle for the arriving Leonardo Clemente to hit his effort under the crossbar to make it 0-2.
Two became three shortly after with Chong intercepting a Horvath pass to find the bottom right from 15 meters to make it 0-3. There were some small chances in the closing stages of the first period, with Gyurcso seeing his chance parried by the keeper. Juhasz then headed an Alvarez corner wide.
Vidi went out unchanged for the second half. Hun had a freekick on 52 minutes that was well held by Horvath. Two minutes later, Baek fed Sin who hit a first time effort that Horvath saved.
There were 8 changes made to the team on the hour mark. Oliveira, Vinicius, Mareval, Szolnoki, Heffler, Simon, Kovacs and Ivanovski coming on for Feczesin, Pajac, Gyurcso, Alvarez, Trebotic, Fejes, Brachi and Chakla. Vidi scored consolation goal in the 64th minute, when Oliveira crossed from the right for the arriving Juhasz to find the back of the net. The defender suffered an injury in the process and was replaced by Kocsis. (1-3).
There were chances for Simon and then Oliveira but neither resulted in a goal. Then Kovacs had his moment, showing fine dribbling skills to finally shoot with his right foot that went just wide of the post. He then had a one-two and tried his luck with his right but No was on hand to save. The keeper palmed away a Heffler free kick on 79 minutes. Kovacs released Ivanovski after 85 minutes, who shot at goal from a tight angle, but the ball ended up going out for a corner. Things continued to come thick and fast towards the end of the match. Won Ko hit a left footed shot that produced a good stop from Horvath, while Vinicius headed over, and then found the back of the net a minute later, but the goal was not given.
There were two minutes of injury time before the final whistle blew. Vidi are next in action on Wednesday at 16:00pm when they take on Lokomotiv Moscow.
