Robert Feczesin scored an injury time winner to give Vidi their first league win of the spring.
Vidi faced Puskas Academy for the sixth time in the first division on Saturday afternoon. The Felcsut side had managed a point against Vidi in the five matches to date. The most exciting of those came in the autumn when Vidi came from 2-0 down to win 3-2!
Hungarian national team manager Bernd Storck was present to watch the game, which started with small chances. Poloskei hit a long range free kick, while at the other end, Sallai flicked a clever shot into the hands of Danilovics. However, neither effort threatened to break the deadlock. The first real dangerous chance arrived after 20 minutes. Poloskei sent a high ball into the box, which Fejes rose high at the far post to head against the bar. Rudolf then shot wide minutes later after a cross from Oliveira. Puskas Academy player Pekar then rattled the side netting from a tight angle on 32 minutes. His powerful strike went just wide of the mark. The action continued with Poloskei again being in the thick of the action. His free kick from the edge of the box was met by the head of Lang, who from 14 meters brought a good save out of keeper Pogacsics. The home keeper flicked the defender's header over the bar.
The second half began with a chance for the home side. A sharp ball across the face of the goal saw Pekar just fail to connect at the near post. Istvan Kovacs picked up a yellow card after 64 minutes, which means that he will miss the next match after notching up his fifth caution.
Pogacsics then saved well from a 65th minute Feczesin shot. Sallai and then Oliveira had chances at goal in the minutes that followed. Pauljevics fouled Stopira on 75 minutes, and with the defender already having picked up a yellow, was shown a second yellow, which resulted in the Puskas Academy being reduced to 10 men. There were no real chances of note until the 90th minute, but that changed in the 4th minute of injury time.
Home forward Castillion hit the post following a quick counter attack, while Pogacsics saved again to deny Feczesin. When the majority inside the stadium were waiting for the final whistle to blow, substitute Haraszti delivered a cross in from the left, which Feczesin connected with ahead of the keeper to head the ball into the back of the empty net (0-1.)
Videoton are in Hungarian cup action on Wednesday evening at the Pancho Arena. Then Ferenc Horvath's side will take on Haladas in the OTP league next Saturday.
