Diosgyőr came from a goal down to pick up three points on Sunday evening.
Videoton kicked off the new 2016-2017 season against DVTK at Felcsut. There were 5 changes to the starting line-up compared to Thursday's Europa League game. Vinicius, Stopira, Bodi, Geresi and Suljic were all left out, with Juhasz, Fejes, Oliveira, Feczesin and Kovacs coming into the first eleven. Robert Feczesin was presented with a gift from Director of Football, Zoltan Kovacs after playing his 150th league game.
The match could not have started better with Vidi going ahead after 2 minutes. Oliveira sent in a ball to the far post from the left, which keeper Antal failed to collect and Feczesin headed the ball in from close range to make it 1-0.
The visitors went close to levelling minutes later, but Nikhazi was saved by keeper Kovacsik in the home goal. A Fejes cross was flicked just wide of the left post by Feczesin after 11 minutes. Diosgyőr were back in the match on 17 minutes: Bognar showed good dribbling before hitting a left foot shot into the back of the net to make it 1-1.
The 25th minute saw Kovacs release Barczi on the right, who shot at goal from 15 meters and went just side of Antal's goal. DVTK went ahead after 39 minutes following a counter attack, which saw Elek play Bognar in, and he made no mistake to find the top left corner from 11 meters. (1-2).
The visiting manager made one change at half time while Vidi went out with the same team. Lazovic came on for his Videoton debut and he set up Oliveira after 55 minutes, but he shot wide of the left post. Szolnoki tried his luck with a long range strike after 58 minutes, but it was dealt with by the visiting keeper. It was Vidi who place great pressure on DVTK as the match continued. Vidi could not really find a way past the well marshalled visiting defence. Pal Lazar was shown his second yellow card by referee Ando-Szabo with 10 minutes remaining. Nego had a right footed shot go over moments later as the action continued. There were 6 minutes left on the clock when defender Fejes brought down Bognar inside the Vidi box. The referee pointed at the spot, but Bognar was denied a hatrick by keeper Kovacsik, who dived well to his left to punch the ball away. Fekes was involed in further action at the other end after 89 minutes, but Antal pulled off a good save to keep his side ahead.
The final whistle blew and DVTK emerged 2-1 winners in the season opener. Vidi are next in action in Belgrade on Thursday in the Q2, second leg.
