Match Report: A draw in the big match with Ferencvaros

Many chances were created but they did not end up in the back of the net. Juhasz made his 150th league appearance, while the 38 points picked up give Vidi a 5 points lead over MTK. Vidi close the autumn season in top place.

There were more than 6000 present inside a cold Sostoi stadium for the big game against Ferencvaros on Sunday afternoon. Club Director Gyozo Burcsa presented Roland Juhasz with a Videoton shirt for his 150th appearance in the Hungarian league.

There was a minutes silence at the start following the tragic death of Szeksefehervar ice hockey player Attila Rajz, who sadly passed away recently. The first chance arrived on 7 minutes, with a Lauth shot from 18 meters being saved by Calatayud. Gyurcso was then played through on goal, but his effort from 13 meters was well saved by keeper Dibusz. Sandor sent a powerful shot at goal from 17 meters a couple of minutes later, with the Ferencvaros keeper well placed to deal with it. Szolnoki's cross after 10 minutes was headed over by Oliveira. The game levelled out and became more balanced in the minutes that followed. Calatayud punched a curling Lauth shot away on 27 minutes, before Gera's corner was saved from under the bar from Bode's header. Gyurcso saw his free kick after 42 minutes saved by keeper Dibusz in the visiting goal. Match official Adam Farkas blew for half time with the score at 0-0.

12 year old Bendek Kovacs took the first kick of the second half, who suffers from a musculoskeletal illness. Roland Juhasz and Zoltan Gera presented Benedek with their international shirt in support of his operation.  Vidi found themselves with a chance on goal from the restart. Oliveira's cross was headed just wide by Nikolics. The 49th minute saw a Gyurcso corner being cleared ahead of Juhasz, but the ball fell to Oliveira who blasted wide from 18 meters. Sandor released Gyurcso with a fine ball on 52 minutes, who lifted the ball over Dibusz, but the ball went the wrong side of the post.

Bode had a shot blocked by Szolnoki a minute later, while Dilaver found Lamah, whose shot bounced wide of the goal. Dibusz got down to save Kovacs' shot from a tight angle. Sandor also had a header at the near post hacked off the goal line by a defender after a corner from Gyurcso. The Vidi wide man took a free kick on 73 minutes from 23 meters out, but the ball hit a defender and deflected over the bar. Alvarez took a corner on 78 minutes, which was flicked on by Sandor, but the ball rebounded away from the goal. There were further chanced in the closing 10 minutes, with a short range shot and header from Nikolics and a long range shot by Alvarez also failing to find the back of the Fradi goal.

The game ended in a 0-0 draw with Vidi continuing to lead the league table. There is now a 5 point lead over MTK who lost at the weekend. Vidi make the visit to Papa next week.
