The two managers spoke at the press conference shortly after the final whistle.
Marko Nikolic
"I congratulate my players for today's win and for making it four out of four in the league. If I am not mistaken, this is the best start that Vidi have made for several seasons. It was so hot that it was hard to even sit on the bench next to the pitch. It is always hard to play against Paks on their home pitch, which is why these three points are very valuable. You could see the joy on the faces of the players in the dressing room. These four wins also means that we have started the league season well. We will continue to work towards our target but we will take it match-by-match. I felt that in both periods, and with the goals, we directed things but we stopped a little after that, which I am not satisfied about. This also means that we can play better. We rotated things again as you could see with the starting eleven and even more players are getting into good form. There is plenty of competition for places in the team. I wish Paks the best in the season and there was a good atmosphere in the stadium today. I also thank the travelling Vidi fans who came out in large numbers."
The manage was asked about the challenge of Ferencvaros in the press conference, but he replied that there were other teams also involved.
"I firstly want to wish Ferencvaros the best in the second leg as it would be good for Hungarian football if they play in the group stage. Sadly things did not go according to plan for us this season with Europe. However, we are proud of our earlier performances in those competitions. I do not want the questions to be only about Ferencvaros and us in the league. Mezokovesd have now made it four wins out of four and Debrecen have won all three of their league games so these are big things. Every side deserves the respect."
Szivics Tomiszlav:
"I saw a good game from both sides. We managed to fully match ourselves against a good side. However, when we needed to score a goal, we ended up conceding one. This represents experience and quality. I congratulate Vidi on the win. I felt we hit Vidi on the counter attack three or four times in the first half. We did not convert these due to technical errors. I felt we had more chances in the second half, but we were punished by a good side for our mistakes. Our opponents keeper had 11 saves to make so we just needed that little extra to get a result. We have improved a lot in two months and still have lots to work on. The players are partners to this so we are heading in the right direction."
