The two managers spoke after Saturday's league match.
Joan Carrillo: "I would firstly like to once again say thank you for choosing me as the manager of the year for 2014. The club captains from the first division sides voted, and this recognition is not only about me, but the players from the team and the coaching staff, and all those who work very hard each day for the success of Vidi. I am very pleased with the performance of the team today, and the attitude with which the players went out on to the pitch. I am not only praising the players that were out there on the pitch today, but all the members of the squad, as this success is also down to their work, while their dedication is essential. Nyiregyhaza are a solid and good defensive side, and it is always dangerous playing against teams like this. We had to perform to the maximum both defensively and when attacking. The players understood this, and I am pleased because of this. I am delighted with the result, but most of all for the way the team played. We were not surprised by the way Nyiregyhaza played, and I have already faced Janos Matyus when he was manager of Papa, so I knew that his side would defend with discipline and really battle. We showed once again that we have very intelligent players in the team, who understand how to achieve success against such a big defensive team. Fortunately it seems that both Gyurcso and Kovacs did not suffer serious injuries in the game today."
Mátyus János: "I did say before the game that Videoton FC were the favourites. We prepared to make a surprise. I was satisfied with the performance in the first half, but the match was settled in the second after the sending off. I did not think that the decision for the penalty was correct, but I will preserve my elegance by congratulating Videoton."
