Trebotic scored the first goal of 2015, but there were also goals for both Ivanovski and Nikolics, while Gyurcso also struck a double.
Vidi played their first friendly match of 2015 on Sunday afternoon in glorious sunshine. The opponents were Spanish fourth division side UD San Pedro.
The first chance fell to the home side with the San Pedro forward heading wide following a corner. Alvarez put Javi Munoz in the home goal under pressure with a long range strike a minute later. Trebotic got hold of the ball on the half way line on 9 minutes. There was some neat short passing before the ball fell to the feet of the Croatian midfielder, who made no mistake from 10 meters out to score the first Vidi goal of 2015, as well as the lead (0-1). The reply from the home team came quickly through a penalty. Domingo kept his composure to make it (1-1) on 15 minutes.
The game evened out over the next few minutes, but then on 21 minutes, Ivanovski found himself on the edge of the box, before rounding the keeper and slotting the ball in to the empty net (1-2). Feczesin then received a lovely ball from Trebotic 5 minutes later, with the forward heading straight towards the Spanish goal, but the keeper closed down the angle and he parried the shot from 9 meters out. Ivanovski and Heffler both had promising chances during this period, but there were no further goals in the first half.
Joan Carrillo sent out a completely different starting eleven for the second half. Kovacs outrun his marker on 48 minutes, before passing to Nikolics, who played it back to Sandor to shoot, but the captain saw his curling shot go just over. Seven minutes later, Kovacs realised Gyurcso arriving alone on the right, and a precise pass found the pacey winger, who found the far corner of the net with a composed shot (1-3).
Ten minutes passed by before a new goalscoring chance, with Nikolics tricking the last defender, but finding himself in a tight angle, still forced a smart stop from the Spanish keeper. Mareval then went down the left wing on 77 minutes, before crossing the ball nicely in front of goal for the arriving Gyurcso to find Nikolics, but the top goalscorer's short range shot was parried by the keeper. There was no mistake on 81 minutes when Nikolics received a perfect ball from Sandor, who floored the keeper before rolling the ball in to the back of the empty net from 10 meters out to make it (1-4).
There was still time to increase the lead when Gyurcso scored his second goal of the match to give Vidi a 5-1 lead. Chances kept on coming in the final minutes of the match. There were efforts from Kovacs, Nikolics and Gyurcso but they just failed to add to the final score.
The next friendly match will be played on Thursday against Bundesliga 2nd division side 1860 Munchen.
