Both sides had chances in front of goal with Brachi also hitting the post with a free kick.
Videoton kicked off their second winter training camp with a friendly on Sunday morning in the pouring rain of southern Spain. They were up against Russian side Dinamo Moscow at the Marbella Football Centre. The two sides did not warm up on the main pitch in order to try to preserve the condition of the pitch. However, it remained very slippery and muddy in places.
Dinamo had more of the early possession in the first half. Vidi, who were playing in their red and blue kit, had the first chance of the friendly. Alvarez started the move, which saw Nildo hit a low ball in from the left, but Zé Luis did not connect well with the ball inside the box. There was some good movement and one-two's being played from both sides, but without any real chance on goal.
The Russian side then stepped up the pace midway through the first period. There were chances first for Fernandes and then Kuranyi, but neither managed to find a way past Vidi keeper Calatayud. The last ten minutes of the first half belonged to Videoton. Brachi hit a free kick on to the crossbar of keeper Berezovsky's goal, while Juhasz saw his flick on go just inches in front of the arriving Zé Luis. The two sides went in at the break with the score at 0-0.
The second half continued in the same pattern as the first had ended. Vidi were closing down their opponents well, while hitting several nice cross balls, which were followed by crosses into the box. Calatayud also had to keep on his toes, first dealing with Kokorin, who showed danger in front of the goal. Calatayud's good save was followed by a goal from Dinamo's Kokorin on the hour mark, but that was flagged offside.
José Gomes then made many changes to his side with the exception of Sandor and Calatayud. The final half hour saw the following side for Vidi: Calatayud - Szolnoki, Tar, Vinícius, Stopira - Hudák, Sándor - Oliveira, Kovács, Gyurcsó - Nikolics. The pattern of play remained the same with the team continuing to play well. Gyurcso, Nikolics and Oliveira were combining well to create dangerous chances. Defenders Vinicius and Tar were dealing well with the Russian attacks at the other end of the pitch.
Both sides could have won the game towards the end, but the match official blew for full time and the final result of this friendly match in Marbella was 0-0.
Vidi are next in action on Wednesday against Chinese side FC Guangzhou Evergrande. That friendly will kick off at 16:30pm.
