Gyorgy Mezey looks back on the friendly with Lokomotiv

Vidi suffered another friendly defeat in similar circumstances to the Cadiz match

Manager Gyorgy Mezey spoke about the third friendly game of the Spanish training camp, when his side suffered a single goal defeat to Lokomotiv Moscow. A 74th minute penalty was enough to split the two sides, despite his side dominating for much of the match.

Gyorgy Mezey: "There was a very big difference between the playing style of Cadiz, and that of Moscow. Lokomotiv are a very big team, with real playing strength within their side. They have two strong players in each of the positions. I wanted to give our international players as much match action as possible, ahead of Hungary's friendly with Azerbaijan next week. That was the reason that Liptak and Lazar played the entire game, while Elek played 70 minutes today. I was a bit surprised at the way we dominated the game for the first hour, with many chances created in the first half. We built our attacks well, and we played very organised, with our defenders playing without any mistakes, which was not easy as Moscow had very quick forwards in their side. The substitutions and changes to the team usually weaken the side a bit, especially as it is not always possible to replace the players coming off with the same quality. That was the main reason that we fell back in the second half. Today's penalty, unlike yesterday's which was correct, was the wrong decision, and I felt that the game would have ended differently had it not been given. I was pleased with what I saw on the whole in today's match.
