Five interesting factors ahead of the match with FTC

MOL Vidi FC travel to Budapest on Saturday for a top of the table clash at the Groupama Arena.

The league season turns into the final furlong with MOL Vidi FC travelling to play Ferencvaros in match 29 of the OTP league. The match on the 20th April will kick off at 19:30pm and we look at 5 interesting factors ahead of this match.

Stopira, Ferenc Horváth and Attila Kuttor

Our left back is preparing to play in his 43rd game of the season, which would mean match number 215 in his Vidi career. He could catch up two former Vidi players on Saturday. Ferenc Horvath and Attila Kuttor are in biting distance for the Cape Verdian. Roland Juhasz is on 214 and he could reach Lajos Takacs while Mate Patkai on 157 will be level with Zsolt Mariasi and Istvan Mitring. Finally Adam Kovacsik will reach the 128 matches played by Attila Polonkai.

Will there will be goalscorer number 8?
Saturday's match will be MOL Vidi's fifth during the current 2018-19 season against Ferencvarosi TC. Our team have scored 8 goals in those games and they have come from 7 different players: Huszti, Hodzic, Scepovic, Juhasz, Vinicius, Milanov and the only player who has scored twice, Nikolov. Perhaps the 8th goal could go to Futacs who has scored the winning goal in the last couple of games.

Missing from Ferencvaros?
The green and whites will have several players unavailable for manager Rebrov. Stefan Spirovski has a knee injury and that has seen him miss matches in 2019. Fernando Gorriaran was forced to come off in the Hungarian Cup match with Vidi. Winter signing Kharatin was also unable to complete the game in Szekesfehervar recently after colliding with his own team mate Lanzafame. However, he missed one match and returned against Mezokovesd. David Siger is another player to have not played recently. He last featured on the 30th March. FTC will have no players missing through suspension.

Last years results
The OTP 2017-18 league season saw the two clubs similarly meet in match 29 of that season. The game at the Pancho Arena ended in a 0-0 draw, which saw Vidi collect their 59th point of the campaign. If MOL Vidi FC can beat FTC for the fourth time this season, they would again be on 59 points after 29 games.

Breaking of records?
The March 2011 game at the Ulloi street stadium ended with Vidi winning 5-0 against FTC. That was a big step on the way to the first ever league title win. That also saw the start of a nice run: Vidi won 1-0 in October 2011, 2-0 in April 2012. That run of three games was unable to continue but that run continues to be the longest run. A win at the Groupama Arena for Marko Nikolic' side would see a new run of 4 games without defeat.
