Vidi suffered their second loss of the spring when they lost 2-1 at home to Diosgyor.
The second league game of 2019 saw 11th in the table DVTK visit the MOL Arena Sostoi on Saturday. The Miskolc club went into the game a point adrift of tenth place, which would secure first division football. Vidi had 8 points between first place FTC and second place.
Manager Marko Nikolic had to do without suspended Paulo Vinicius and Georgi Milanov, who picked up his fifth caution last week. Istvan Kovacs came into the team in place of Milanov while Anel Hadzic and Armin Hodzic replaced Akos Elek and Boban Nikolov from last weeks side. The game was 3 minutes old when Nego and Juhar battled for the ball and the French player tapped it into the path of Scepovic, who held off Brkovic before shooting low into the back of the net (1-0).
Another chance on 10 minutes saw Scepovic play in Hodzic, who arrived well but keeper Bukran reacted fast to deny him. Just 6 minutes later and Nego took the ball towards Juhar, with the ball arriving at Patkai, who looked up and shot from a tight angle but the ball just failed to reach Hodzic, who arrived unmarked as the ball went over him. Lovely combination play after 22 minutes was applauded by the supporters as Stopira found Hadzic, who backheeled the ball to the left back, with Stopira shooting and bringing out a save from Bukran as the ball went out for a corner.
The equaliser arrived on 28 minutes. A ball forward found Mijajlovic, who controlled the ball and shot through the legs of Kovacsik to make it 1-1. DVTK then went one better as they took the lead after 33 minutes: Vernes sent a free kick to Karan, who following a bounce made no mistake to make it 1-2.
Vidi went close to levelling after 38 minutes when Huszti took the ball to the opponents box and the shot flew over the bar.Markvart tried with a shot from 20 meters after 41 minutes but Kovacsik was alert to the chance and he saved. The one minute of injury time at the end of the first half included a header from Stopira, which bounced off a defender, while Nego played in Patkai, who curled the ball wide of the post. The referee blew for half time with Vidi trailing 1-2.
Vidi had the chance to quickly draw level at the start of the second half: Patkai turned Karan, who knocked him to the floor from behind. Referee Pinter pointed at the spot after originally playing the advantage. Huszti stood behind the ball and his penalty hit the right post with the visitors surviving.
Stopira's powerful shot on 56 minutes was blocked by a defender, but two players reacting well following a rebound, as the ball went over Bukran, but a defender was on the goal line to hack the ball away. An 18th minute Scepovic shot curled wide of the post from 18 meters.
Patkai sent a volley just wide of the post after 60 minutes as Vidi pressed hard for the equaliser. Futacs was the first to come on in place of Huszti a couple of minutes later. Hangya was the next after 68 minutes when he replaced Patkai. Stopira moved in the centre of defence with Fiola shifting over to the right back position and Nego moved forward into midfield. Tajti came on for the visitors in place of Vernes.
Stopira headed from 15 meters following a 71st minute free kick, which Bukran got down to low to palm away. Bacsa was next to come on towards the end as he replaced Mihajlovic.
A cross from Kovacs after 84 minutes went across the face of the goal, which Scepovic played back into the middle with Nego racing in to hit the ball over. There was not further change to the score with DVTK emerging 2-1 winners. Vidi travel to MTK next week.
