Bernard Casoni: We are in a difficult situation but will not give up

The two managers spoke to the media after the final whistle.

Bernard Casoni: It is hard to summarize this match. We went in to the game with a new formation, and I made several changes to the starting team. We then fell behind quickly. We deservedly came back in to the match and scored an equalizer. Unfortunately Ferencvaros are a stronger side than us at the moment. This defeat was badly taken by the supporters as well and we know this. The players gave everything but it was not enough today. We needed to take in to consideration the amount of foreign players within the team, and how many match minutes the players have played over recent weeks. The program has been thick and fast, which is why some players are lacking a little when it comes to playing with a clean head. We also have several injuries to the team at the moment. We are in a difficult situation but will not give up.

Thomas Doll: I am happy that we managed to win again against Vidi following July's Super Cup final. We deserved this win, because we played with courage from the first minute and were very attacking in the way we played. We also know that Vidi were involved in a Champions league match on Wednesday, and then had a long journey home, so this is bound to have had an affect in the way they played. There were a few minutes in the second half when we did not have things in our hands. Videoton levelled and I knew that if we returned back to our own tempo, then there would not be any problem. We managed to changed and then added two further goals. We have started the season very well and we must continue down this road. We have worked hard until now and will continue to reach our aims.
