Autumn goals: who, when and from where?

Videoton FC scored a total of 32 goals over the first half of the season.

Videoton FC found the back of the opponents net 32 times in 17 games, over the first half of the 2011-2012 OTP Bank league season. This put them just behind Debrecen, and level on goals with Honved in second place, when it comes to goalscoring. The 32 goals came from all over the pitch, and we have split them up to produce interesting statistics below.

Right, left, or with the head?
The "most popular" method of scoring goals from our players was with the right foot. 19 of the 32 came like that, producing a 59,375%. Nemanja Nikolics and Andre Alves' right foot was the most lethal over the first six months, with the pair managing six goals each. There were 6 goals scored via a left foot, which represented 18.75% of goals. Andre once again topped this section with 3 goals. We scored many goals through headers, with 7 going into the opponents net, which was 21,875% of the total. No surprise to see the Brazilian forward top this as well with 3 goals.

Inside the box or out?
There were not that many goals from long range, with just 5 being scored from outside the box, 15,625%). The majority of goals came from in and around the penalty area, while 2 goals came from dead ball situations. The first was an Alves penalty, while the second was an unforgettable Brachi free kick.

When did Vidi score goals?
1-15. minutes: 2 goals
16-30. minutes: 4 goals
31-45. minutes: 4 goals
46-60. minutes: 2 goals
61-75. minutes: 6 goals
76-90. minutes: 14 goals

First half, second half?
Perhaps the most unbelievable statistic was that Vidi managed to score just 10 times in the first 45 minutes of matches. They showed their stamina in several games, which resulted in the other 22 goals coming in the second period. The majority of goals came in the final 15 minutes of games, with more goals being scored then than in the first half itself! Those 15 minutes produced 43,75% of goals, or 14 in number! This shows that the players were strong mentally, as well as when it came to stamina and strength.
