ZTE led 2-0 only for Vidi to turn the game around and lead 3-2 but the home side scored an equaliser in injury time.
MOL Fehervar FC travelled west to take on ZTE on Saturday evening in match 11 of the OTP league season. Last years promoted side went into the game occupying one of the relegation positions while Vidi sat top of the league table.
Manager Marko Nikolic had to do without Krisztian Geresi, Paulo Vinicius, Attila Fiola, Szabolcs Huszti and Roland Juhasz. Mate Patkai returned to action during the midweek cup win and he took his place on the bench with a starting eleven of Kovácsik - Nego, Rus, Musliu, Hangya - Petryak, Nikolov, Pantics, Kovács - Milanov, Hodzic. Home side ZTE started as follows: Demjén - Kocsis G., Bobál D., Lesjak, Tamás K. - Bedi, Mitrovics - Radó, Babati, Stieber - Bobál G.
The game started with what was probably the quickest ever yellow card when Armin Hodzic entered the referee's notebook for a foul on Rado after 3 minutes. The home side then took the lead after 6 minutes when Rado took the ball through on a one-on-one with Kovacsik, which saw the Vidi keeper pull off a good save, but the rebound fell to Gergely Bobal who found the back of the net (1-0).
A good move down the left after 12 minutes ended with Petryak shooting at goal from 12 meters, but Demjen was well placed to deal with it. A Hodzic shot four minutes later was also saved by the home keeper. A cross from the right after 18 minutes by Nego was hit at goal by Milanov but it went straight in the middle of the goal and was collected by the keeper. The game was 24 minutes old when Kocsis released Rado down the right and he showed good skill before bringing a very good save out of Kovacsik. The Vidi keeper had no chance after 25 minutes when Mitrovic played Bobal in and he found the bottom left corner to make it 2-0.
The two-goal forward then flicked Stieber's cross towards goal minutes later. Kovacs and Milanov combined shortly later to provide Hodzic with a chance to shoot, but Demjen again denied him with a save while the rebound was hit wide by Petryak. Milanov crossed for Petryak to try his luck with a shot, but Demjen acrobatically saved with the ball heading towards the near bottom corner. A corner on 39 minutes found its way to Hodzic, who lifted the ball towards Nego, who tried to beat Demjen but the home keeper again came out on top. The resulting counter attack had Rado shoot at goal, but Kovacsik was in the right place to deal with it. Hodzic headed wide from a Nikolov corner three minutes later.
Neither manager made a change at the break although an injury to Krisztian Tamas had forced a change for the home side with Gergenyi coming on at the end of the first half. The second half began with a volley from Kocsis but the ball went well wide of the right post. Gergely Bobal shot powerfully from 30 meters on 50 minutes, but Kovacsik did well to pick the ball out of the top right corner. Stieber shot with his left foot from 14 meters but it failed to cause danger in the Vidi area.
Vidi managed to pull one back from the resulting counter attack. Petryak crossed the ball back from the left for Nego to head home from 7 meters to make it 2-1. The team continued to attack and soon the scores were level. This time a cross from Hangya found its way to Milanov, who passed to Hodzic with the forward making no mistake from close range to bring the score to 2-2. ZTE put the ball in the back of the net a minute later through Stieber, but referee Ando-Szabo ruled it out for offside. Gergenyi tried from a tight angle for the home team on 58 minutes, which Kovacsik saved. The Vidi keeper was again in the thick of the action 6 minutes later when he tipped over a powerful Bedi shot. The game still had 15 minutes to go when Petryak played in Hangya but the left back hit the side netting.
Vidi took the lead for the first time in the game after 83 minutes. Adrian Rus suffered an injury and was replaced by Akos Elek. The corner from Nikolov eventually landed at the feet of Futacs and the forward fired into the back of the net 2-3.
The game unfortunately did not end there. ZTE pressed forward in the final minute and Lesjak pounced to score from close range after 93 minutes (3-3).
Vidi came away from Zalaegerszeg with a point to continue to lead the table from Mezokovesd and Ferencvaros who drew 1-1.
