After a gap of nine and a half years we will play against ETO again in the NB I first division.
On Saturday at 14:30 we will visit our rivals, ETO FC Győr. In recent years, Győr has been playing in the NB III and NB II, so the last time we met our green and white rivals in the top flight was on 1st March 2015, when we drew 2-2 at ETO Park.
Saturday's match will be the 96th NB I league match between the two teams, the previous 95 meetings has brought Győr's superiority: ETO won 37 times, we have emerged winners 30 times with 28 draws, the goal difference is 146-129 in favour of ETO.
With Győr's as the home side, Saturday will be the 49th meeting in the NB I, with 26 wins in the 48 matches played so far, and only 7 wins and 15 draws. The last time we won an NB I league game was 15 years ago, on 9th May 2009 at the home of ETO, when Vujovics and Alison scored in a 2-1 win for Vidi.
After a long time, ETO have returned to the top this year, thanks to finishing 2nd in NB II last season, two points ahead of Vasas. The majority of the squad is made up of foreign players and Balázs Borbély's team has failed to win in the first four rounds (Nyíregyháza-ETO 2-1, ETO-DVSC 0-3, ETO-MTK 1-2, Kecskemét-ETO 2-1). In the last three rounds, however, the team has remained unbeaten and has collected five points out of a possible nine (DVTK-ETO 0-0, ETO-Paks 2-1, Újpest-ETO 0-0). In addition, ETO managed to beat Paks for the first time in the league.
