The OTP league season continues at the weekend with a visit to Paks.
MOL Vidi FC go into Saturday's game having won five games in a row. The last 3 league games have ended in victory against MTK, Haladas and Kisvarda. The next challenge is an away match at Paks for the second time this season after the game in November.
Paks suffered a 4-0 home defeat to Vidi and have been inconsistent since. They lost to Ferencvaros and DVTK in 2018 and played out draws against Honved, Puskas Academy and Ujpest. Their games in 2019 saw them begin with a 4 match unbeaten run. There were wins over MTK and Debrecen and a point against Haladas and Kisvarda. However, that run ended with defeat most recently to Mezokovesd.
Janos Hahn has scored the most goals for Saturday's opponents. He has scored 7 goals in 22 matches with Andras Simon on 5. The Canadian table sees Lajos Bertus with (1+6) and Mohamed Remili with (3+4).
Zsolt Gevay has played the most minutes this season (1757) with several closely behind. They include Janos Hahn with 1706, Andras Fejes 1696 and Lajos Bertus on 1600.
Several players have left the club with former Vidi keeper Vilmos Borsos moving on loan to Budaors. Midfielder Mark Nikhazi has joined III Kerulet and another to move out on loan is keeper Peter Horvath to Siofok. Lajos Bertus has switched to Mezokovesd. Arrivals have been Barna Kesztyus, who returned from a loan spell from Budaors. Norbert Konyves from DVSC, Laszlo Zsidai from Puskas, Jozsed Windecker has returned from Polish club Levadia. Keeper Balazs Szabo from Budafok, Benjamin Cseke has signed from Ujpest, while David Bobal has arrived from Dukla Praha.
There are several players with Vidi connections in the Paks squad. Zsolt Gevay and Andras Fejes as well as Adam Simon and Zsolt Haraszti. Manager Aurell Csertoi coached Vidi to the Hungarian Cup success in 2006. His assistant is former Vidi player Zoltan Nemeth.
Aurel Csertoi will have to do without Andras Simon after he was sent off against Mezokovesd. Richard Nagy is also battling with injury. Adam Simon has not been available for a while now while Zsolt Haraszti has a knee injury. Janos Szabo was forced to come off in the game against Debrecen.
