A penalty from Huszti and a header by Milanov gave MOL Vidi the win in round 6.
Hungarian Cup round 6 saw Vidi make the visit to Cigand. The game kicked off at 13:00pm on Sunday at the close to full Cignadi Sport Ground. The new club building was handed over before the game.
The game started well with a penalty awarded after 3 minutes after Scepovic was pulled down in front of goal. Hodzic stood behind the ball but his low shot towards the bottom right was saved by keeper Hrabina. The Bosnian forward then shot over 3 minutes later, before Scepovic again brought a save out of the home keeper. Kis had a shot at the other end that Tujvel saved, while a Hodzic header on 9 minutes sailed over the bar. Cigand pushed up a little after the opening 10 minutes but they could not create a chance. The Cigand captain, Varga then elbowed Patkai inside his box, and the referee pointed at the spot for the second time. Huszti took the penalty and he powerfully placed it into the middle of the goal (0-1).
Another 3 minutes went by and a cross on the right from Nego was headed nicely home by Milanov (0-2). The comfortable lead resulted in more attacks and possession for Vidi in the first half, but there were no further goals. Cigand's Timko had the final chance of the first period with a dangerous shot that went wide of the post.
Marko Nikolic did not make a change at the break. The second half started with a shot from Huszti and a cross from Nego, which ended with a long range strike from Hangya, which was collected by keeper Hrabina in the 59 minutes. Varga hit the post a couple of minutes later for the third division side, while Baksa shot over from 22 meters. That was the closest that Cigand came to scoring a consolation.
Hryhoriy picked up his second yellow of the match after 66 minutes, which meant that the home side were reduced to ten men for the remainder of the game. Huszti's free kick a minute later was comfortably saved by Hrabina. Berecz also sent a shot from 20 meters over the bar. Santa's header was a good chance for the hosts after 74 minutes, but the effort was saved by keeper Tujvel. Hangya's cross on 85 minutes found Nego, who volleyed at goal, but again the keeper was well placed. There were some good saves in the closing moments from the Cigand keeper but the final whistle blew and Vidi will go into the next round following a 2-0 win. The team are next in action on Wednesday evening in the OTP league with a home game against Mezokovesd.
