Paulo Sousa managed Videoton to their second silverware since joining the club in the summer.
The Portuguese manager's first key match in charge of Vidi came in the summer Super Cup final. That match was also played at the Szektoi stadium in Kecskemet, and just like in that 1-0 win, Vidi repeated the feat with a good 3-0 league cup final win over the violets. Sousa made changes to the side that beat Vasas at the weekend. Videoton had emerged top of their group in the earlier rounds of the league cup. They then beat Diosgyőr over two legs to clinch a place in the semi-finals, where they saw off Papa. Kecskemet themselves are also in good form at the moment, and they made sure that things would not be easy for the Szekesfehervar side. Kecskemet went into the final with a big advantage of playing at home. This was due to an earlier draw, which took place to determine the venue for the final.
