Gyorgy Mezey saw his Vidi side win 5-0 away from home.
Gyorgy Mezey: "This morning, when I gave my final talk the players, I could see the determination in their eyes, and that they were not going into the game looking for the draw, as many had thought earlier. They did not do this! The result could even have been bigger, given the chances we created in the match, and we would have deserved that. Let's not get greedy. A strong Ferencvaros side could not deal with the fact that they had suddenly been thrown into the title race, in the eyes of the media. Laszlo Lencse's form has recently been getting better and better. This could be seen in the cup game with Honved as well. I would praise his staying power, and the fact that he did not lose his self-confidence. Everything is starting to gain interest at the moment. Andre Alves scored the first goal, but he missed two as well, which is unusual for him. The goalkeepers are starting to work out where he sends his penalties, and that may have made him a bit unsure. He is a footballer and he will solve this for himself. Polonkai scored a wonderful goal, from a great pass. I thought that both he and Sandor were perfect today, and their performance was of a European level. What was the moment when the game was decided? The players gave a great deal individually, and they shut all the things that could affect them from their minds, and just concentrated on the match."
Laszlo Prukner: "Videoton deserved their win, but not by that big a margin. Some of our key players under performed in today's game. We tried to affect Videoton's organized football, but they were very motivated, once they raced into a two-goal lead. The turning points in the game came at bad times for us. We not only lost the individual battles on the pitch, but also made costly mistakes. Life goes on, and we will have to learn from today's errors, and move forward to our next match with MTK."
